May was a relatively slow month in terms of content creation. I was occupied with my daily runs and some personal commitments that took up most of my time.
However, I did manage to make a few improvements to the homepage. I had initially been waiting for UI/UX suggestions from my colleagues, but since they were quite busy, I decided to take the initiative myself.
I redesigned the homepage using a grid-style layout to display more content at once. This new structure aims to enhance user experience and improve engagement.
New Posts and Pages
I published 3 new posts in May, primarily to support the updated homepage structure. With these additions, the total number of live posts on the website now stands at 43.
Page Views and Sessions

In May, the site had:
- 433 active users
- 582 sessions
My goal is to reach at least 10,000 sessions by the end of 2025 to qualify for Journey by Mediavine. At the current pace, it seems like a long road ahead, but I’m hopeful that steady progress will get me there.
Revenue in May 2025
AdSense was approved on May 20, 2025, and since then, it has been generating between $0.01 to $0.03 per day. For the month of May, the estimated revenue was $0.24.
SEO Experiment
After the Helpful Content Update (HCU) in September 2023, many independent bloggers saw significant drops in traffic and have since shifted focus to alternative traffic sources like social media and email marketing.
In my research, I discovered that many of these bloggers had restructured their homepages into siloed or pillar-based layouts to funnel traffic toward their top-performing or highest-earning posts. Inspired by this, I implemented a similar change on my homepage using a grid-based layout.

Following the update:
- Impressions have seen a noticeable spike
- Clicks have increased slightly
- CTR has dipped a bit, but
- Average position has improved by 2 spots
I’ve also started closely tracking the impact of Google’s AI Overviews, which appear to be eating into my traffic more than I initially realized.
That wraps up May! Looking forward to seeing where June takes us.
